Garmans paper of social justice and democracy through dialogue, proposes the ideal learning environment given that everyone abides by the same standard and rules. Many of these common wills do have great value and are important to the structure of learning, such as the willingness to value multiple perspectives and the willingness to appreciate the complexities of a post-modern world. However, of the ten willingnesses identified by Dr. Garman, I find that the willingness to risk along with the willingness to strive for warranted positions go hand in hand with being the most difficult to fulfill. The willingness to value multiple perspectives is definitely one of the most important willingnesses to adhere to.
