The Computer Screen can Deceive People often pretend to be someone or something they aren’t Men can become women who talk to other women Felons can talk to young children A CEO of Whole Foods disguised himself as another person and wrote anonymous attacks against his competitor We can walk away from the encounter, delay responses Synchronous communication – communication between the sender & receiver taking place at the same time (real time) Asynchtonous communication – sender and receiver do not have to synchronize before
