But its not all about pain. Your twelve hours of studying towards getting an A should not include any txting, tv watching and other interruption. For a 3-credit class (PHY2049), you should spend at least 12 hrs Outside of the class Key to the success in this class Time : You need to spend enough hours on it. Learn smartly : Study groups, office hour, etc. Practice, practice, and practice: HMWK, End-of- chapter problems Pre-lecture: Read the book before Post-lecture: Read the book (slides) after Train yourself to think scientifically and independently How to solve a typical physics problem Rank the following questions you should ask yourself when facing a physics problem in a correct order: (most people want to learn physics by only asking A). What you should do is? A. Which (formulas should I be using) B. What (is going on, what properties are being discussed, what is known, what is unknown) C. If and Why (would the properties be changing) D. How (are these known and unknown properties related) Ask the right question in the right order...
