4 Now that you’ve done an analysis of your skills and strengths, it’s time to make your resume! Employers spend about 15-30 seconds on each resume – make your resume stand out A good resume is clearly balanced – you have something to write to in each section A strong resume has content in each section If you don’t have content in some of your sections, that tells you what you need to work on before going out to get that next internship or job Format is key Do you have all of the key components? Is it structured the right way? How much white space do you have? Is it “un-boring”? Formatting is key Did you use bold, italics, and underline to your advantage? Does it read well? No more than one page Pay attention to detail – Proofread, proofread, and proofread again! First Impressions are Everything… 4
