Helping the Justice System If someone intends to harm you, your family or loved ones how will you react? Will you stand idly by and hope for the best or take matters in your own hands and defend your rights as an American? These decisions are nothing new and in the era of the cowboy it was daily life for some. Out in the west during the 1800’s when territories were becoming states towns sprouted up all over the nation. In these towns marshal’s enforced the laws but just because they had badges it didn’t mean they were honest. Some people can be swayed in the wrong direction and that is what happened in the movie Open Range. In this movie a group of free grazers encounter a cattle man who runs the town and wants them gone from his so called land. When the free grazers don’t heed his warnings an assault was made by killing Mose and wounding Button. After the assault Charlie and Boss decided to take matters into their own hands. The two of them took Button to town for medical assistance and confront the tyrant and his men. In town
