I feel the project system we have in place is a very important part of our department but I see flaws in the way it works. There is room to improve as with most systems. We use a project system at BCBST to make sure that the projects asked for are completed on time and every request asked for is included. These requests can come from the state/government, other departments within BCBST and even the CEO. The job is the responsibility of our project managers. The director is involved with looking over the project plan after it is created (depending on how important the request is she sometimes lets the managers decide). Currently we have 2 project managers for 6 different departments that have over 150 employees. There is normally an initial meeting with the managers of each department and the project managers to discuss what needs to go into each plan. Each manager is involved with giving idea for the plans and then the project managers are responsible for taking these ideas and creating the plans for each department.
