Final Exam Study Tips: Cumulative Material: Study your old exams for the cumulative part – everything that was included in exams 1-3. Questions will not be exactly the same, but they will be used as the basis for other questions on the final. There will be no new diagrams or illustrations used on the cumulative part of the test. The format will be the same as all other exams. New Material: Study as you would for a regular exam. See the new study guides online for the new material: Ecosystems II, Nutrition, Animal Transport (circulatory system) and Gas Exchange (respiratory system). The study guides will refer you to readings and background information you should read for the exam that were not discussed in class (see Readings on the course website). The

Additional Hints for questions that will be on the final exam: Make sure you can explain each of the biogeochemical cycles: nitrogen, carbon, water, and phosphorus. Make sure to review the digestive processes. Know the mechanical and chemical action of each part of the digestive system. Be able to trace the flow of blood through the body and heart (through all the specific structures and chambers of the heart). Be able to explain oxygen and carbon dioxide loading and unloading and the mechanisms associated with gas exchange. Dont forget to take the practice test which reviews the new material.
