There are several ways you can motivate friends or relatives to exercise even if they do not currently. One of the biggest ways to motivate them is to challenge them to get in shape and then go to the gym with them or workout together at home (even if it is just playing a sport or following along with workout videos) so you both can motivate each other to do your best. Also it is more enjoyable with a partner so you would both benefit

People always love getting something for free so if you got them to come try the gym for free and showed them how great it was, a lot of people would probably join.
