Axia College Material Appendix E Create-A- Diet This activity demonstrates how to select a healthful food regime. Go to bin/chd/diet.cgi to begin the activity. Select foods from a variety of choices and then review a report on how closely you were able to match your intake goals for saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, and calories. After analyzing the nutritional value of your typical daily diet, describe the areas in which you need improvement by answering the questions below. 1. Is your fat intake too high? My fat intake is much too high. It appear most of the extra fat I consume comes from extra meat portions, the type of meat I eat and from the condiments I prefer to eat/ use such as Caesar dressing, margarine, and sour cream. 2. With the estimate I saw how high my calorie count really is and I have some work to do. 3. What are the steps you could take to improve your diet? Steps I can take to improve my diet are first and foremost to wean myself off of some of the meat products I enjoy. Instead of having meat conservatively I tend to try to eat it with every meal. If I were to cut down on my consumption of meat and to stop using so many high fat condiments I could save myself from eating so many fat and calories.
