ANOMIC SUICIDE SS101 Emile Durkheim p 29 “collective moral conscience” o get this from society and absorbed by the socialization process o sense of right and wrong and it varies from society and society  suicide rates is an indicator of something else going wrong o high suicide rate indicates certain individual features of society o this is because the collective moral conscience is down…not doing its  job society forms individual  o if society is suppose to function. Things are suppose to function together o we absorb collective moral conscience unconsciously  o we want to obey this conscience to get accepted into society o high priority so that you feel like you belong  o the whole purpose of our life is to belong and become part of something  larger than ourselves  social norms o what is considered normal behavior. What most people do o society makes them and we absorb these norms that together comprise the
