THE PROCESS OF HUMAN SOCIALIZATION SS101- Discussion Notes Socialization-  Developing self identity and personality go hand in hand Process of socialization central element in all of social science Society to the individual- impossible to separate one from the other  The principal of sociology is that behavior is learned  o Biology can have  a big impact on people’s behavior  Nature and not just nurture has an effect on what we do  Sociobiology- how biology can affect behavior Process works: brains are wired such a way that certain circumstances affect the way  chemicals flow within the brain This can effect blood pressure and breathing, muscle contraction and these are things  that affect peoples moods and ability to perceive things…and affects behavior Human contact makes peoples better because it releases feel good chemicals Isolation makes you feel stressed  II. Natural selection Ex: level of testosterone has been linked to aggressive behavior
