ME 463 Safety Check 2 – Near Critical Design Review, Before Ordering Materials Students will convene a meeting of the safety committee (Mike Sherwood, PEARL Manager, John Starkey, PEARL Director, and your ME 463 instructor), to seek their approval to proceed with purchasing parts and fabricating a prototype/experiment. Students should be prepared with drawings and specifications sufficient to explain the design of the experimental set-up (prototype) and test procedures. Students will be prepared to answer design and safety questions during the meeting. a. What experiment(s) are required to validate your concept? Explain the design of your prototype/experimental set-up b. Where and how will this experiment be conducted? What risks are there to experimenters? What risks are there to observers? What risks are there to property? c. What specific results do you expect to get from experiment?
