www.sae.org SAE International is a global association of more than 128,000 engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive and commercial vehicle industries. SAE International’s core competencies are life-long learning and voluntary standards development. SAE International’s charitable arm is the SAE Foundation, which supports many programs, including A World in Motion® and the Collegiate Design Series. The SAE International – A World In Motion (AWIM) program has been in existence for 20 years bringing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education to life for students in the classroom settings. One of the biggest advantages of the AWIM program is the programs ability to actively engage students in STEM learning through hands-on inquiry-based learning opportunities. One such learning opportunity available for middles school students is the Glider Challenge. (see http://www.awim.org/curriculum/glider/ for details). The Glider Challenge is an interdisciplinary Challenge.
