HOMOSEXUALITY HISTORICAL AND SCIENTIFIC 2 Homosexuality Historical and scientific perspectives Homosexuality is a subject that is debated often. The reason for why some women are lesbians, some men are gay, the biological, and the psychological factors are still not understood. However, many views about this subject exist, and many researches have been conducted in order to try to answer the questions the world has about homosexuality. These questions include how announcing “coming out” affects one’s social life and how homosexuals present themselves. Since the beginnings of time, homosexuality has had proponents and has faced much opposition. The fiercest opposition to homosexuality was from the Judeo-Christian religions, which dominated the Western society. The term sodomy comes from many religious teachings. This term sodomy refers to the sins if Sodom, the destruction of the two cities of god, and Gomorra. The populace indulged in anal and oral sex, according to the Judeo-Christian bible. These teachings present that homosexuality is beastly, a sin and unnatural. To this day
