Usman Ansari 01/30/2011 ME 340 Academic Paper Review Summary The problem that this paper is tackling is that Kirchhoff’s current law does not hold for all infinite parallel circuits. The infinitesimals and hyperreal currents and voltages cannot be approximated by the standard analysis. This paper introduces the idea of nonstandard electrical networks into circuit theory, considering specifically a finite interconnection of one-ports having nonstandard parameters. Kirchhoff’s laws and Ohm’s laws are introduced into nonstandard versions of nodal-voltage analysis. A nonstandard theory is developed for a broad class of infinite networks in which Kirchhoff’s laws are always satisfied and analyze voltages and currents in the entire circuit. Importance The work presented in this paper is very important to the field of electronics because this nonstandard analysis can also be applied to a finitely very large parallel circuit network. It allows engineers to obtain more precise values for voltages and
