Data Mining and Warehousing Unit 3 Discussion Board Kregg M. Soltow June 22, 2011 American Intercontinental University In most companies, IT staff members need to know something about everything. What analysis would you make if a client said that the reports were taking too long to run? First I would analyze our company’s new server and verify that any and all report files that were ported over from the old server weren’t just removed. Through this analysis I would generally find that the reports being run and loaded are looking to re import their sub reports, but because the sub report is referencing a location that no longer exists, it’s taking an extended period of time to kick back and even in some instances timing out. By disabling the re import feature of the report it now no longer will try to reference a sub report that doesn’t exist. How do 3NF and 1NF compare and contrast in very large database (VLDB)? What advantages does the 3NF design have for a VLDB?
