FUNCTIONS OF MANAGING A BUSINESS 2 Abstract There are three manufacturing options when owning a business. You can establish manufacturing of all components and the final assembly, establish an assembly only operation with components purchased from local vendors, or outsource the entire manufacturing operation to an offshore company. Of these options, I choose to establish an assembly only operation with components purchased from local vendors. Given that my business is a bakery, it only makes sense to have a fully operational assembly workforce to maximize time and production capabilities. It would not really makes sense at this time to get involved in the production of all the by products and ingredients that go hand in hand with the production of my products simply because that is biting off more then anyone can chew, that also goes for sending my manufacturing offshore, freshness is key to my business and the turnaround time for offshore operation times is way to long to make that work.
