Documentation Requirements for LLA Credit When assessing learning gained through experience, evaluators need to have access to documentation that verifies the student’s life experience. Academic integrity requires such verification to ensure that the experiences written about are the authentic, personal experiences of the student seeking approval. Without documentation, Lifelong Learning Assessment (LLA) papers will not be evaluated for credit. For this reason, documentation must be submitted at the same time a learner submits his or her LLA paper. The Documentation Pyramid shows different levels of documentation. At the highest point are documents considered official, whether from government offices or receipts from corporate entities. The most common include birth certificates, operator’s licenses, marriage certificates, pay stubs from established companies, and medical records.
