Step 1: Determining qualified applicants Applications are submitted to the Human Resources Department. A designated HR staff member will screen applications and determine which applicants meet the qualifications required for the department manager position. If a situation arises where there are 10 or less applicants meeting the job qualifications, all may be forwarded directly to the hiring manager in alphabetical order.
