Applicant’s Perspective: My current employer, Acadia Insurance Company starts out finding recruits for these jobs in a few different ways. Acadia first internally posts for any job available on their intranet, under the Human Resources section. They also take referrals from their employees, offering a $1,000.00 bonus to the employee if Acadia hires the individual they suggested. Acadia also recruits through colleges by posting jobs on college websites and recruiting through job fairs. Acadia also recruits through the internet by posting jobs on syracuse.com, monster.com and other similar sites. After their recruiting process, I think their selection process is quite extensive. Acadia now requires a bachelor’s degree or extensive equivalent experience for any one they will hire and some positions require both. The interview starts first with a phone interview with a Human Resources manager. Next, the applicant comes into the office and takes a basic aptitude test called a
