Surfing Lessons I. Intro a. Surfing is a tough thing to do i. It takes lessons and practice ii. When you fall it hurts, you get beat up iii. The lessons for it, if you think about it are the same as evangelism II. Lesson 1 a. The waves are waiting to be surfed i. When you’re a surfer and you see a wave, you want to ride it 1. They almost invite you b. John 4:35 i. If it was in Maui, it would be about waves ready for surfing c. Young people tend to be more open to conversation the about Christ i. They want a dialogue, a conversation about anything d. Young people tend to be less open to the exclusiveness about Christ i. It’s hard for them to accept that he is the way the truth and the life ii. no one comes to the father but through him iii. Acts 4:12 iv. They are willing to engage but that’s what makes it hard for them, they don’t want only one way III. Lesson 2 a. Position your board i. You need to have your board perpendicular to the wave, not the shore 1. Get in line with the wave first then guide it towards the shore ii. Back your board up to their wave, start where they’re at b. Acts 17:22-28
