Trials and Temptations I. How many of you like taking tests? a. How do you prepare for tests? i. Is it easier to take the test knowing that you prepared and studied for it prior to taking it? b. The more time you take before a test to prepare for it; the more likely you are to do well on it. II. How many of you get tested in your walk with Christ? a. James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. b. It’s always hard going through tests and trials but the Bible says to consider it “pure joy” c. It says to consider it pure joy because it develops perseverance. d. To persevere means to persist in spite of counterinfluences, opposition, or discouragement. e. Coach Hahn i. Pre game speeches were about perseverance because its an important thing to have f.
