Worship I. What is worship? a. definition i. reverence offered a divine being or supernatural power ii. extravagant respect or admiration for or devotion to an object of esteem b. Worship is our way of thanking and praising God for what he’s done in our lives. II. What is worship to God? a. His creation thanking Him for what He has done in our lives. i. 1 Timothy 4:4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving , ii. 2 Corinthians 4:15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. b. Psalm 150 c. It is pleasant for Him to hear i. Ps 147:1 Praise the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is pleasing to God. III. What should worship be to us? a. Worship is when we praise God for many reasons i. He created us 1. "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created." — Revelation 4:11
