Unformatted text preview: Brianna Haynes ART 2313.252 Visual Art Review #1 In determining my first work of art to evaluate, I made sure to pick a visual art that caught my attention and could strike something within me strong enough to provide a sensible critique. Therefore, I found myself at the Texas State University Gallery in Alkek Library. I had originally thought to examine another work, but as I was strolling through the maze of displays a distinctive and quite extreme photograph grabbed my eyes and refused to let go. Do we want cake? is a spectacular creation which was birthed by Fernando Montiel Klint in 2006. This is a large picture with an innovative party scene taking place, of which is case mounted on the wall deliberately taking all attention from all other art. This scene of somewhat unfortunate events takes place at a birthday party, which is both intriguing and disheartening all at once. The vivid colors are most apparent through the deep royal blue floor with tatters of confetti strewn all over the floor, almost to represent the chaos...
