Learning Objectives
Students will be expected to learn:
1.
How to solve systems of linear equations, when there is a solution.
2.
How to determine when a system of linear equations has a solution, and to determine how
many solutions exist.
3.
When a system of linear equations has no solution, how to find the best approximate
solution using least squares.
4.
How to work with vectors and matrices: vector addition and scalar multiplication, dot
products of vectors, and matrix multiplication.
5.
How to find eigenvectors and eigenvalues of a square matrix.
6.
How to find the determinant of a matrix, and to understand what it means.
