What type of server will be used? Which blog software will be employed? How will the blog be coded? What browsers need to be supported? What if the blog does not render perfectly with all browsers? What knowledge does she need as a manager? BUS 237 3 Questions to Consider Q1. Why do you need to know about information technology? Q2. Where did all of this information technology stuff come from? Q3. What does a manager need to know about computer hardware? Q4. Whats the difference between a client and a server, and what is cloud computing? Q5. What does a manager need to know about software? Q6. What buying decisions do you need to make? Q7. What are viruses, worms, and zombies? BUS 237 4 Q1. Why do you need to know about information technology? I dont need to know how a car works in order to drive a car! So why do I need to know how hardware and software work? Well its true you dont need to know how a car works to drive it, but no one is going to pay you to drive one either. People who get paid to drive cars, know how they work. This knowledge gives them an advantage. BUS 237 5 Why so I need to know? If I need to know, Ill pay someone to figure it out. Ill buy the expertise when I need it Well if you are sick where do you go? Do you go to a doctor? Which doctor do you go and see? How do you choose? Does every doctor give the same advice? Is every doctor right? How do you know when you are getting good advice? You have to take responsibility for your own health!
