1.) 17 pts. Your measure the series resistance and inductance of a three stack stepper motor with a series LCR meter. As you rotate the machine the resistance is constant and is equal to 3.5 Ohms. The inductance varies between 20 mH and 120 mH. Also, the inductance has 4 maxima as you rotate the shaft through a revolution. What is are the values of s r , A ls L L + , and B L ? What is the step length? If the current is limited to 2 A, what is the advance torque for half-step operation? 2.) 16 pts. Consider the torque versus position characteristics of a VR stepper shown on the attached sheet. Initially the c-phase is energized and the position is as indicated (point 1). Then the position is stepped to the b-phase.
