Dr. Barr Business 102 April 19, 2009 Bruce Johnstone Speech Bruce Johnstone, the managing Director and Senior Marketing Investment Strategist at Fidelity Investments, graduated from Harvard in 1966 and began working for Fidelity immediately. In 1987, Johnstone was named America’s Best Income Investor by Money Magazine . Johnstone has worked in a variety of positions at Fidelity, some include the following: Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director of Fidelity in 1990 as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). His speech he gave last Tuesday was titled “She Hands with the Feds.” Johnstone explained that “the Feds” meant “all the folks in Washington, not just the Federal Reserve.” After speaking briefly on the effects of the economy around the world, Johnston said that when you compare investment opportunities around the world, you need a context. The context he offered is as follows: 1. Rising above your profit 2. Benign interest rates and “plenty of dough” meaning ample equity
