ENGR 195(II) – Spring 2010 Activity 1 Class 9a Activity 1 – Flowchart for Travel Mode Choice As part of Homework 8, your team converted your solution (procedure) to MEA 1 to a flowchart in preparation to convert your procedure to MATLAB code. Your peer teachers will hand back the copies of your flowcharts to use during this class. As a team, examine the flowchart and make refinements to the flowchart - modify your procedure as necessary to better fit MATLAB code and programming structures that you now know how to use. Your flowchart should anticipate that the following tasks need to be completed: 1) Load the student travel mode data. Note: Your team will need to modify the spreadsheet data so that MATLAB can read it. 2) Extract data from the larger data set as needed in preparation for predicting the travel mode. 3) Predict the travel mode for each student. Your team will need to do this in a specific way. Your team will write a user-defined function called predict_mode.m . This function will have eight (8) inputs and return one output, the predicted mode of transportation. The
