Math 1300 Section 5.2 1 Multiplication and Division of Rational Expressions Multiplication Multiplication of rational expressions is done similar to multiplication of fractions. When multiplying two fractions, the product of the numerators is the answer’s numerator. The product of the denominators is the answer’s denominator. This is the same rule for the multiplication of rational expressions: put the product of the numerators over the product of the denominators.
