SPCE 630 Article Critique: Part 2 What are the dependent variables? In this study there were 4 dependent variables (DVs). The first was direct observations of student compliance (which is shown in Figure 2), direct observation of teachers and paraprofessionals treatment implementation, direct observations of consultant procedural integrity, and ratings of teacher and paraprofessional acceptability (Table 1). Are the dependent variables clearly defined? Explain your answer. There were clear definitions for all four DVs. The first DV was clearly defined as completion of an instruction that a teacher or paraprofessional provided, within 10 seconds of the initial instruction. Each student was observed for a 20-minute continuous recording session with 1- minute intervals. The next DV was teacher and paraprofessional treatment implementation which was measured with a treatment integrity checklist. The list had 5 steps which included:
