Math 1310 Class Notes – Section 2.6, Page 1 of 11 Math 1310 Section 2.6 Linear Inequalities In this lesson, you will learn to solve linear inequalities, graph the solution on a real number line and state the solution using interval notation. You’ll solve 4 different types of linear inequalities, involving these four symbols: > greater than (the quantity to the left of the sign is greater than the quantity to the right of the sign), e.g., 12 9 < less than (the quantity to the left of the sign is less than the quantity to the right of the sign), e.g., 6 7 < greater than or equal to (the quantity to the left of the sign is greater than or equal to the quantity to the right of the sign) less than or equal to (the quantity to the left of the sign is less than or equal to the quantity to the right of the sign)
