Chapter 4: Applying Logic in Decision Making I. Level 1: Analyzing Data Using Relational Operators and Boolean Logical Functions a. Boolean logical values – TRUE and FALSE b. Boolean logical functions – AND, OR, NOT c. Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) – one of the most widely used financial reporting services that provides financial info about corporations and institutions and extensive analysis on each company’s creditworthiness and payment history c.i. Credit rating consists of 2 parts: c.i.1. 5A to HH – indicates the net worth cat of the company c.i.2. 1 to 4 – indicates a composite credit appraisal score, representing the company’s risk factors that affect its ability to pay its bills d. PAYDEX index – an indicator of the payment heabirs of the company e. The first = sign indicates the beginning of a formula, the second = sign is interpreted as a relational operator f. Relational operators can be used to evaluate text labels. The =, >, > =, <, and < = operators all work with text, where a greater value is one that appears later in the alphabet
