AAE 334, Fall 2011, Homework 20 SOLUTIONS Due at beginning of lecture, Monday, October 31, 2011 Consider a pitot-static probe in a supersonic flow. The streamline on centerline passes through a normal shock before stagnating isentropically. The streamline adjacent to the stagnation streamline passes through approximately a normal shock and then passes over the pitot-static tube to the static pressure port. Using the Matlab functions provided in HW19, 1. Compute and plot the ratio of stagnation pressure at the tip of the probe to static pressure upstream of the shock. 2. Compute and plot on the same plot the ratio of stagnation pressure at the tip of the probe to static pressure measured on the side of the probe.
