Sahil Patel Human Resources Scenario Section 4 Assignment 4 Date: The following scenario is one in which you assume ownership of fast food franchise or another small business of your choice. One of the first tasks as a new manager is to establish, monitor and use an employee development system to develop a realistic training plan for the first year of employment for 3 newly hired employees. This will include orientation, initial training, and development of the employee and performance appraisal. Assume that counseling and career management may not necessarily be required during the first year of employment. You may wish to visit the premises of a fast food franchise or small business to observe the working environment and job tasks performed by employees. If possible, you may wish to discuss your assignment with a manager or business owner, or staff members. Using your knowledge, observations and any feedback obtained, proceed with the assignment task. 1. Sample Employee Development Criteria/Plan for a restaurant should look like the following: Employee Information Employee # 1, 2 or 3 Job Title Date: Manager Name Ratings Performance Criteria Poor Fair Satisfactor y Good Excellent Job Knowledge – Understands duties, responsibilities, has ability to use materials needed and has the level of proficiency required to accomplish the work. Work Quality – Accuracy, thoroughness, dependability of results Initiative – Ability to be self directed, efficient, creative, and resourceful. Assumes additional duties on individual initiative and adapts quickly to newer responsibilities.
