The traditional approach views a system as a collection of processes while the object-oriented approach views the system as a collection of interacting objects. 2 Marks: 5 Describe how data flow diagrams can show the system at various levels of abstraction. A data flow diagram can show both high level (general view of a system) and low levels (detailed view of a single process) of abstractions. The high level process on one DFD can be decomposed in to separate low level detailed DFD's. 3 Marks: 5 Briefly describe the key elements of a sequence diagram The key elements of a sequence diagram are actors, depicted by stick figures, and objects, which are depicted as rectangles with the inside label underlined. 4 Marks: 5 What are the 4 steps to developing a sequence diagram? 1.)
