PERSONS AND PERSONAL IDENTITY III MIGHT PERSONS BE JUST LIVE HUMAN BODIES? A new objection : Brain transplants. Suppose my brain is put inside your skull and connected to your body and likewise for your brain and my body. Afterward, where am I? I am where your body is. If you doubt this, suppose beforehand you know that the operation is going to be performed and you know also that only one person will be allowed to survive. If you want to survive, which person want to stay alive ? who has your original body after the operation or with the other body? Surely, the latter. That person is . In this case, there is sameness of person but difference in body. So, personal identity does not consist in sameness of live human body. Persons are not just bodies .
