Susan Stalte Composition 108 October 24, 2011 Cause – Effect Essay: Taking on a heavy academic workload Signing up for semester courses can be quite stressful. In order to be considered full-time, students can take as low as 12 credits to as high as 21. Typically, 15 credits is the average. But for students trying to get some classes out of the way, and assuming that they can handle the workload, he or she will take on more classes. Although it’s great for students to challenge themselves and maybe even take an extra class to lighten the workload for next semester, registering for a lot of courses definitely has side effects, both positive and negative. Taking on more than 15 credits can obviously lead to increased stress levels. Having to study and complete assignments for up seven classes will typically cause mental and physical exhaustion. In order to pass the classes, it’s crucial to study, read and keep up in the course. With that said, sometimes students will miss one of their classes in
