Ted Palmer Agency: The Samaritan Center Supervisor: Sara Gardner Contact Information- Phone: 315-472-0650 Fax: 315-428-8821 Address: 310 Montgomery Street Syracuse, NY 13202 The Samaritan Center is a church-based organization partnered with the United Way in the city of Syracuse, NY whose main goal is to provide basic necessities to those less fortunate. On a daily basis for the past thirty years, the program assists the homeless with hot meals and donated clothing in an effort to alleviate poverty in Central New York. The Samaritan Center serves 300 people for breakfast and dinner a day, assisting the elderly, younger adults, and even families. While each year, the program serves approximately 13,000 men, women, and children. The Samaritan Center has a very diverse economic and ethnic background, as it is heavily run by volunteers throughout the entire local community which brings people from various economic statuses and ethnicities.
