Dan Aiello Writing 205 Professor Cronin 16 March 2011 Author Review Jonathan Kozol is a well know writer who was formally a teacher has written many books that are about education and the problems that come with education. Kozol has completed 12 different works all having to do with education and learning. His first book he wrote in 1967 death at an early age which was about his experiences in a Boston public school and his latest work was in 2007 which was letters to a young teacher. Kozol founded and runs a nonprofit organization called the Cambridge institute for public education. He holds awards such as two Guggenheim Fellowship awards, two Rockefeller Foundation awards and two fellowships from the field and ford foundations. I would say that any of the books that Kozol has written is very credible. Kozol being a teacher and writing so much literature on education and receiving so many awards for these works makes him extremely credible when it comes to education. One of Kozol’s works that stand out the most is his book shame of the nation.
