Narrative: Overall I found this class very helpful to me and it gave me skills I will use for the rest of my life. Project one and two were directly related to my major. While project three gave me skills that I didn’t necessarily need but will be great to know. This project really tested your ability to design and organize information to be displayed professionally. I think this project would have been a little more difficult, without the William’s book. I learned some great skills, from reading the book, which advertisers use to help you communicate visually. William’s four basic principles really helped a lot when creating the website. Contrast, proximity, repetition and alignment are the main methods in creating a very professional document that communicates to the viewer effectively. I found myself using proximity, contrast, repetition and alignment a lot when creating the webpage. I used contrast a great deal when trying to show the reader that I wanted them to see a particular text. Alignment and proximity were important when I created my link bar and wanted to show all the items belonged together. The principle of repetition helped when I repeated the logo’s colors throughout the whole page, which I thought made everything look more professional. Project three helped me learn a lot about displaying information and how important it is and made me realize that I could possibly be using this in my future job. In engineering you have to communicate with people and create documents many people see. I can see myself using all of these skills when I have to create an engineering report on something and these skills will help me keep the document very professional. I really enjoyed this class and I would have to say that it has been the only writing class that I feel will help me in the future. I can now see why my department required me to take it.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
