Nayef Jaber Period 5 02-06-2012 Almost $75 million is spent each year by Child and Family Services for adoption services for children who feel unsafe in their current surroundings. In hooks’ essay “Justice: Childhood Love Lessons,” hooks’ argues that if you abuse your children then you do not love them. I partially agree with this idea however I still feel that children should be disciplined as long as it is in a nonviolent way. Child abuse and discipline are two different things; however the lines between them are crossed all the time. In hooks’ essay she states, “One of the most important social myths we must debunk if we are to become a more loving culture is the one that teaches parents that abuse and neglect can coexist with love.” (hooks 11) hooks is stating that as long as parents, future and current, abuse their children and assume that they are showing love with their actions, then this so called “intimate terrorism” will remain in society. In my opinion that statement is true,
