Week 6 - Assignment 1 The Situation Dustin Taylor Chadron State College MGMT 620 High Performance Leadership 3 “Takeaways' From Chapter 11 Autonomy I think almost all of us have been in situations where we were “micro-managed” to the point of feeling nearly useless. I didn't know the proper terminology, but I knew I didn't like it. I wasn't surprised to see that when autonomy increases, so does responsibility and job satisfaction. I took away the fact that not only do other people feel the same way I felt, but they probably reacted in the same negative manner that I reacted. The importance of the situation I always underestimated the role of the situation in leadership. I assumed the leader and the followers were the most important part of leadership. Now, I'm not so sure. I think the situation itself provided the most fluid and changing part of the leadership equation, making it the most difficult and important part. Organizational culture
