Dayani Marrero Developmental English Professor Ralph Monday January 15, 2012 A Summary of “The Buzz on Caffeine” Did you know that the average American consumes about 3 to 4 cups of a drug that does both right and wrong to our body, without many of us knowing it’s real effects? According to Jeffery Cluger nearly 60% of Americans choose caffeine as their “recreational chemical of choice”. What most of us don’t realize is that although their our positives to this chemical, the more you use it the quicker it becomes a habituate to our system. As Cluger states, headaches and lethargy may begin after a night of not using the chemical, not to mention jitteriness and sleeplessness that is sometimes associated with withdrawal. Because of this, it is no surprise that caffeine is needed only in moderation. Although caffeine is easily accessed, it is said that regardless of its availability, its intake should be monitored and adjusted to your own bodies needs....
