Com 100 (Fall 2006) Informative Speaking Assignment Action Steps Overview: You will prepare and deliver (twice) a 5 minute informative speech on a topic that interests you. You will identify and analyze a hypothetical audience for your speech and prepare a detailed speech outline. Your speech will be videotaped two times at the Communication Assessment Learning Laboratory (CALL). You must purchase a videotape and bring it to the CALL on each of your two visits. To receive a passing grade on this assignment, students must complete successfully each step listed below, show evidence of conscientious preparation, provide the required videotape, make and attend all required appointments, show improvement on Speech #2, and submit all required materials. Written materials should be typed. Your instructor will provide detailed instructions for each step. Step 1. Choose and research your topic . See the section of your textbook starting on page 287 for general for guidance on topic selection. Chapter 13 provides more details
