AC 221 Team Project Guidelines Due Dates Company Selection: Friday, November 11, 2011. Final Report: Due in class on Thursday, December 1, 2011. Please note that early submission is always welcomed. Objective The objective of the team project is to allow students to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom to the analysis of a real-world company. You should put yourself in the position of a financial analyst who is presenting a report to a potential investor on the profitability and risk of the publicly-listed company you are examining. You need not try to value the company or make a recommendation on whether the investor should buy the stock. Teams Team projects call for equitable contribution from all members and every team member is expected to fully understand all parts of the project, though you may as a team, allocate specific tasks among yourself. Company Selection It is a good idea to select a company that you have some understanding about its business environment. Stay away from banks, service companies, big conglomerates and companies in financial distress, etc. These companies either have different accounting and regulatory requirements or have rather complicated financial statements. You should be able to download the financial statements into excel from Mergent Online through the Pardee Library’s portal. Simply go to Pardee Library Databases: By Title Mergent Online. You can also visit http://finance.yahoo.com . for relevant financial information. Please make sure that there are 10k reports available for your firm.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
