PREREQUISITES, CO-REQUISITES and OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Microsoft Excel 2010: Complete ISBN-13: 978-0-538-75005-9/ ISBN-10: 0-538-75005-7 Online Companion: TEXTBOOKS (including ISBN#) and REQUIRED MATERIALS/RECOMMENDED READING: This course was specifically developed as an introductory personal computer applications course. It covers all essential aspects of EXCEL 2010. Students completing this course will have knowledge of Windows and will be able to solve a variety of spreadsheet problems. The windows environment places the students in the world of the mouse and a common graphic user interface between all applications. COURSE CONTENT: a. Understand Excel terminology, the Excel window, and the basic characteristics of a worksheet and workbook by doing the following: Starting and exiting Excel; entering text and numbers, selecting ranges, using the AutoSum button, copying using the fill handle, changing font sizes, bolding, centering across columns, using AutoFormat commands, charting using the ChartWizard button, saving and opening a worksheet, editing a worksheet, and obtaining online Help. b. Use formulas and functions to build a worksheet, format text, format numbers, add borders and color, change widths of columns and heights of rows, spell check, create 3-D columns, preview and print a worksheet and display and print the formulas in a worksheet. c. Copy objects between a source document and a destination document by using the three methods for copying objects–copy and past, copy and embed, copy and link.
