Dennis Uzar 9/19/10 W-131 The American Dream appeals to all types of people , American or not , who seek a life of comfort and perfection . David Brooks , author of Our Sprawling , Supersize Utopia argues that modern day suburbia is the reflection of the American dream in all ways . Brooks says that people who were once flocking to city centers in search of work and the American Dream are now finding refuge in modern day suburbia . The epicenter of what was once believed to be the home of all dreams and aspirations has now been tossed aside and a new holy land has been founded . Suburbia . Over the years population growth has increased dramatically in suburban areas . Not only do suburban areas house more families but it is increasingly becoming the center of business and commerce . Stereotypically cities are more diverse and populated however with the great influx of migrants to the suburban areas this is no longer true . In his essay
