Emir Ibrahimovic FIN321 Big Short Analysis The Wall Street financial collapse that occurred in 2008 can be best described by Michael Lewis. He is one of the country’s best writers about the economy, he first wrote “Liars Poker” when he was in his twenties. Now he has a book coming out called “Big Short” and it describes how one of Wall Street’s final minds managed to destroyed $1.75 trillion of wealth. He believes that the people that were working at Wall Street lost focus on the long term goals and instead they become much more focused on the short term goals. Everyone always thinks that the story behind that 2008 collapse is that everyone is just a criminal, Michael Lewis on the other hand thinks differently and things that statement is just a delusion. There were about ten or twenty investors who made a fortune in the 2008 collapse because they saw the collapse coming. One of the investors noticed Wall Street buying mortgage securities and selling them off to other investors. Eventually over time every single quarter this investor noticed that the mortgages were
