J(E)DI 2010 2 Taylor/Naputi Theory Dispo good 1. It’s reciprocal— If the Aff gets multiple tests of our advocacy, we should get the same. Dispo ensures competitive equity 2. Key to negative flexibility—Our only burden is to disprove the plan. Being able to test it at multiple levels is essential to neg strategy and ground, which outweighs their voters because neg flexibility is key to balancing a massive aff side bias. 3. The Alternative is worse—Absent dispo, the CP could be conditional—which is infinitely unpredictable for the aff, OR the status quo, which they have infinite prep to develop offense against, and unconditional CPs deny strategic neg flexibility and aren’t real world 4. Encourages Strategic Decision Making—allowing 2NR strategic options forces predictive critical thinking—doesn’t skew time because 2AR always has the last speech to exploit the negative and the ball is in their court—the 2AC has the option to straight-turn the CP as a strategic option to resolve any connection to conditionality 5. Education—It’s most real world. Policymakers often test out proposals and decide the status quo is better after some debate. Critical & strategic thinking will always outweigh their abuse in what fosters a more productive education 6. Err neg on theory—Aff gets infinite prep time, the structural advantage of first and last speeches, gets to choose how to interpret the resolution, and now presumption. Err neg to check this inherent affirmative bias in the round and the topic. 7. Non-unique—All negative arguments are dispositional. The affirmative isn’t complaining about us potentially kicking out of topicality or a disad that’s not straight-turned. 8. Time and strategy skews are inevitable – teams will always be faster and theory and topicality arguments will always produce a time and strategic trade-off – the counterplan is preferable to these debates because it increases education and equalizes time trade offs 9. Reject THIS argument, not the team. CPs are inherently defensive positions to test the aff as the best policy option and not a reason to vote AFF.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
